Day 1: Santander to Comillas

My feet hurt.

I offer it for all the prayer intentions we've received so far!

It was such a beautiful day of walking. We had sights of beautiful mountains, wild flowers, lush country sides, and crashing waves. The weather was perfect and the sun was out.

We started a little later than we wanted today. We had to bring our suitcase to the post office to have it forwarded to Santiago, our ending point. We ran into a couple issues getting to the post office and thanks to the nice woman working there we got on our way. We decided to skip city walking and get a cab to Santillana Del Mar, the next common walking stage.

From there we were on our own, with just our feet to carry us and our packs on our back. Praise God for the weather we had today... I think with how overwhelmed I was with starting the journey mixed with a view speed bumps, rain could've made me really sad.

I'm not exactly sure how I'll end up writing these at this point. I think I'll still do a general recap of the day, but also maybe share of my prayer, attitude, or general thoughts. We'll see how it plays out.

My mom and I chatted for some of the walk, was in silence for some of it as well. I enjoyed the solitude and silent comradary that we shared. Which so much new stimulus and new fears I had a harder time entering into a spiritual journey today. While we did get some quiet time to ponder and also some beautiful alone time in the church this evening to pray, I feel like it will take a couple days for my brain to move aside for my spirit to take charge.

Pray for me that I am able to fully enter in! Also pray for my sad damaged feet that don't want to walk 18 miles tomorrow.... we're thinking about trying to shorten our day already somehow ha. I'm thinking this will be the new normal.
