Another great day in Zurich. We're still not convinced that it's a real place. It feels futuristic but in indescribable ways. It feels like we're in a game of sims. This morning we ate pasta for breakfast then took a train 40 minutes away to rhine falls. It was a beautiful ride! The falls are huge and absolutely beautiful. We were all amazed at their power. Logan, Jaydn, and I paid an extra 5 Franks to go down closer to some lower platforms where we were showered in mist. There was also a castle to explore.
After admiring the falls for a while we found a little restaurant with a great view and I ordered some weird alpine dish that was basically Mac and cheese with potatoes and applesauce.
After we arrived back in Zurich, Brooke and I went to Aldi to finish getting groceries for our supper and the boys went to the fire station. It started absolutely pouring and hailing while we were in the store so we stalled by also picking out some wine and dessert. We met back up with the boys and they gave us different accounts on how the fire station visit went. Logan's probably more realistic and definitely more awkward sounding. They never did get to exchange a patch after no one stopped to talk to them. Jaydn might try another station before we leave. Maybe it will go better the next time :)
This evening we made a couple awesome pizzas and ate dessert and finished the night off with a couple beers at some nearby bars.
Notables/highlights:
•Todays song was "pop out" by polo g. Logan picked it. We sang it way to much for its lyric content.
• I forgot to mention a couple days ago a guy at a bar accused Logan of having "fake teeth." For some reason he was just dead set that Logan's very real teeth were fake. At one point Brooke dropped in on the conversation and added "Logan, quit lying, your teeth are fake" and left again. Logan was super pleased.
• I was really grateful to have just a few minutes of alone time appreciating the river and falls and basking in their beauty. Alone time and silence has not been abundant on this trip so it was a great opportunity for prayer.
