Today started slow. I slept in a little bit because I stayed up last night way to late writing yesterday's post. Then Alley and I ate some clementines and yogurt and watched "The Office." We finally got dressed and headed out for a walk. We walked around the Dachau Palace and it's gardens. We had great views! Then we walked to get Döner, pronounced duna. It's pretty much gyro meet with fries and sauce, super good.
By the time we ate Alexander was off work so we walked back towards the Airbnb to meet him there. We stopped at an adorable bakery on the way and split a pastry and a piece of cake. As soon as Alexander pulled up we hopped in the car toward Neuschwanstein Castle. This castle inspired the Sleeping Beauty Castle of Disneyland. The drive was beautiful as we neared the mountains.
From the prking lot of the castle we were told it was about a 40 minute walk up. We found a short cut and did it a little faster. The views of the castle and surround nature were incredible. After we admired the castle from upclose we walked further on to a bridge that was famous for viewing the castle. It was a little higher up and creakier than I would like but the views were too good to not walk out.
On the way up there were also awesome views of another castle, the mountains, and lakes. If you zoom in you can see the little (huge) yellow castle in the photo.
The way back took a little longer than it should've due to a huge traffic jam. With all our extra time Alley and I relived our Disney glory days by listening to old sound tracks. We wanted to go to a ramen restaurant, but they were full so we went to the Italian place next door. I ate gnocchi and it was wonderful. Poor Alexander forgot his wallet on the military base an hour away so he dropped off me and Alley to get the Airbnb cleaned up and our stuff packed and drove to go get it. He's the last person I want missing sleep as we have an 8 hour drive tomorrow, but he's got some Red Bulls to give him wings for that I suppose.
Pray for our long drive tomorrow! That we get there safely, I don't back seat drive too much, and that Alexander keeps both hands on the wheel at all times.
