Day 3: Paris to Barcelona

Another LONG day! We started it with the Louvre and seeing some incredible pieces of art including the Mona Lisa! We got hungry and went and found some lunch at St Michael's Cafe, whose namesake was an incredible fountain with a massive statue of St Michael right across the street.

We kept walking after lunch to look at the outside of Notre Dame, the inside still isn't finished with reparations after the fire in 2019. They expect to have visitors inside again in 2024. After taking in the beauty of the massive church for a while and googling what all the statues meant we found a coffee shop with a fantastic view of the church where Jaydn proceeded to eat his foam off of his cappachino with a spoon and topping it off with a whole packet of suger... Easy to say he's been the brunt of the jokes on this trip.

After lunch we hopped on a plane to Barcelona! Our time in Paris flew and we loved every second, but I'm super excited for this city as well. Brooke and I were lucky enough to sleep on the entire flight over.

I was incredibly happy with my efforts on Duo Lingo and Brooke's highschool spanish class to have a very broken spanish conversation with our airbnb host.... we're hoping we follow instructions because we esitmate that we only understood about 50%.... wish us luck. We learned that Jaydn's method of "Spanish" is just to talk really loud in english and use super vague hand gestures.

Our Airbnb host gave us a restaurant recomendation just a few blocks away so we took advantage of plenty of tapas, paella pollo, and 3 litres of sangria. A great way to spend our first night in Spain.

After a quick walk we're back in our Airbnb, getting ready for tomorrow, and praying that one of these days we'll get to bed before 1am and get to sleep in past 7:30....woof.

Notables/Highlights:

  • Logan likes building office furniture and microbiology. His coworkers even call him the most overqualified office furniture builder in the world.

  • We have a bidet at this aribnb

  • Yesterday we thought we were at an ATM and ALMOST accidentially put down bets on the horse races instead... Thank goodness a french woman stopped us.
